What is the BBA degree all about?

Our degree programme in International Business, or DIB as we call it, is tailored for both Finnish and international students who aspire to work in global organizations. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of globally oriented companies, especially those operating in the business-to-business trade.  

When you graduate from DIB, you will be highly qualified to work in positions related to marketing, sales and international trade. Our programme goes beyond theoretical knowledge – it equips you to succeed in diverse work environments, emphasizing the values of Nordic work communities, such as equality, trust, transparency, and respect for diversity.

The programme focuses on developing skills required in the field of international business. For example, you will: 

  • Learn how to plan and execute effective sales and marketing activities in the international market, utilizing data and digital tools 
  • Develop the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively in English with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, supply network and authorities 
  • Gain understanding of the key principles and practices of international trade 
  • Learn to work well in diverse groups and in Nordic work communities, where values like equality, trust, transparency, and respect for diversity are important

At Oamk, hands-on learning and collaboration with companies are essential components of our international business studies. Practical examples from various industries serve as the cornerstones of our courses. Work-life-oriented projects, practical training, and thesis work enable our students to directly apply theory to real-world scenarios. This approach provides our students with valuable insights into business practices and enhances their readiness for future careers. 

International all the way 

Students from around the world join our programme, fostering a truly diverse and international learning environment. Students are encouraged to participate in a student exchange period in one of our partner universities and have also the option to complete practical training period abroad.  

Additionally, our students can apply to a Double Degree programme at one of our partner universities. In the Double Degree programme, students spend part of their studies at the partner institution and receive a degree diploma from both higher education institutions once they graduate from Oamk.  

Career opportunities

International Business programme allows versatile career opportunities both in Finland and internationally. The studies provide a strong foundation especially for roles in marketing, sales and international trade. The working title could be one of the following:
