The first joint application period for higher education in spring begins on Wednesday, 8 January at 8:00. During this period, applications can be submitted for bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes taught in English. At Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk), there are a total of 293 study places available in five fields: Information Technology, Culture, Business, Social and Health Care, and Engineering. Applications are submitted electronically via the Studyinfo.fi service. The application period ends on Wednesday, 22 January at 15:00.

In autumn 2025, a new bachelor’s degree programme, Energy Technology and Environmental Engineering, will be introduced.

“The energy sector is undergoing a fundamental transformation driven by technological advancements, political changes, and growing awareness of environmental sustainability. There is a need for engineers to contribute to building a sustainable future. The new degree programme equips students with the skills to address the challenges of a changing business environment and the sustainability crisis in the field,” says Tuija Sipilä, Director, School of Engineering.

Among other bachelor’s degree programmes, Mechanical Engineering emphasises responsibility and sustainable development in industry and product development. Information Technology focuses on web development, while International Business centres on global business operations. Nursing prepares students to work as nurses both in Finland and internationally.

Master’s degree programmes are designed to be studied alongside work, as they are primarily conducted online. A new master’s programme, Innovative Music Performance, enhances musicians’ performance skills and ability to execute creative shows in unique live events. Data Analytics and Project Management delves into data analytics and data-driven leadership. Education Entrepreneurship provides skills to work in areas such as educational export and the development of education systems in various countries. The English-taught specialisation option in the Clinical Specialist degree programme, Clinical Optometry, equips optometrists with the expertise to take on diverse and demanding roles related to optometry and eye health.

Internationality is a central part of the learning environment in English-taught programmes. In addition to degree students from around the world, Oamk hosts a significant number of exchange students each academic year. This provides excellent opportunities for networking and building friendships. Students can also complete part of their studies abroad at one of Oamk’s many partner universities in Europe, Asia, or North America. Internships included in the degree can also be carried out internationally.
