Cross-institutional studies

Cross-institutional study is an opportunity for a higher education student to complete studies from another institution.

  • Students must be higher education institution degree students with an annual registration status as ‘present’.
  • Students will have a temporary study right in their target institution and the study right will be valid for the duration of the cross-institutional studies.
  • Students can choose courses that have been listed in a network agreement about cross-institutional studies. These courses can be found in a course catalogue on this page.
  • The rules of the institution that organizes the teaching must be followed.
  • The assessments are made and registered in the target institution and the credits can be transferred to home institution by accreditation of learning.

Do you want to participate in cross-study courses at Oamk? Welcome! You can find the current course catalogue on this page. Applying for cross-study courses is done in Peppi or via the Webropol form.

Instructions

  1. Check which studies are available from the course catalogue below and update your study plan.
  2. Make sure that you are able to include the cross-institutional studies to your degree in your home institution. The studies must be included in your personal study plan PSP.
  3. Submit the application
  4. Follow the instruction e-mails that you received and participate to courses as instructed by the teacher. Enjoy the studies!
  5. After you have completed your cross-institutional studies and you have received assessment, you can print your transcript of records from Peppi. Take your transcript to academic affairs in your faculty where your studies will be transferred to University of Oulu and to your Weboodi. You can also share your transcript as a link from the My Studyinfo -service. To log in, you must identify yourself to the service with a bank ID, a mobile certificate or an ID card with a chip.

Applying for student ID

You need a student ID, i.e. students.oamk.fi user ID, to be able to use Oamk’s online services (e.g. e-mail, cloud storage facilities and online learning environments). When you use the student ID, you agree to follow Oamk’s rules for using information systems and accept the terms of use at the same time. Different systems are used per course.

Your student ID can be picked up in 3 days. Apply for your student ID from the Suomi.fi -service according to the instructions of the ICT services. When applying for a student ID, you must prove your identity with bank credentials, an electronic identity card or a mobile certificate. If you do not have the credentials required for identification, contact Academic Affairs at study.oamk@oulu.fi.

Access rights require you to change your password as soon as you receive it. Test the functionality of your student ID in advance before starting your studies. Try, for example, to log in to the MS 365 cloud service used in Oamk (login instructions). In case of problems, contact ICT services.

The same user ID is used for all Oamk’s systems, such as Moodle (online learning environment) and Peppi (Oamk’s student management system).

During courses, teachers can use e-mail for information, so remember to check your e-mail regularly.
Note! The Office 365 service is logged in with an e-mail address (username@students.oamk.fi), while for example Moodle is logged in with just a username (the end of the e-mail, @students.oamk.fi, is omitted).

In case you have further questions, you can ask more information from the Oamk service team at study.oamk@oulu.fi. If you have any questions about the content or implementation of the studies, please contact the course teacher.
