Business Corner

The goal of our activities is the foster the growth of new startup- and growth companies. We are doing this with a startup-program and numerous events and peer support. Everyone interested in startups and entrepreneurship is welcome to come work together in Co-work!

Oamk leads the development of student-led startup-activities and offer a wide variety of support for future startup entrepreneurs. We develop the ecosystem and our activities by bringing together ideas and people from different backgrounds, so that together we can create solutions of the future and profitable businesses.

Oamk also leads the startup spearhead-program in the Oulu Innovation Alliance.

• Mentorship mornings every Mon and Wed 9:30 – 11:30 where you can get guidance from our business mentors
• Spaces for developing your business forward
• Coaching for taking your startup-company forward, either in the Startup Express Program or Business Incubator, or healthtech startup incubator OYSTER.
• Startup program Founder’s Corner (in FI) on campus
• Peer support through the community
• Numerous events for networking, teaming up and commercializing new inventions.

Business Corner serves as an entrepreneurial community in Linnanmaa, and Business Corner Co-work is a meeting place for entrepreneurial students. Come for a cup of coffee at Co-work and chat with other like-minded students. Entrepreneurship coaches are available there, and the space is also available at other times for developing your business projects.

Students can apply for Proof-of-Concept (PoC) funding of 500€ – 5,000€ for testing and piloting a growth-oriented business idea. PoC funding is only available for ideas in the concept phase – already established companies are not eligible. The funding can be used for outsourced services, material purchases, and travel.
