Answer to Students on the move -survey by 31.1.!

Do you need breaks from sitting? How do you think the campus supports physical activity?

The Students on the Move (https://www.jamk.fi/en/jamk/organisation/school-of-health-and-social-studies/likes/on-the-move-programmes) is a national programme to increase physical activity among students and improve their capacity to study in upper secondary education and higher education. The average university student sits for more than 10 hours a day. Prolonged sitting and other sedentary behaviour does not only make your body stiff, but also numbs the brain. Physical activity can be part of the study day in many ways. Getting up and moving around while studying improves concentration and enhances memory functions, among other things, which results in better learning outcomes.

Students on the Move -survey will help you to assess your own physical activity during the study day and your educational institution’s practices related to physical activity. Please voice your needs and ideas now! Oamk and University of Oulu can use this information in the development of activities that support physical activity. We do not ask the respondent’s name in the form and respondents cannot be identified. The information collected with the form will also be used to develop the national Students on the Move activities and research.
