The education is arranged online. Teaching is arranged in the evenings (at agreed times: Monday – Friday at 5 pm – 9 pm Finnish time) and some courses have time and place independent implementation. Info about the starting days and teaching in the academic year of 2024-2025 will be notified later.

Eligibility criteria

For Master of Business Administration, applicants must have one of the following degrees:

  • higher education degree from the field of business information technology / business information systems / computer science in Finland or equivalent international degree.
  • higher education degree from the field of business/economics or equivalent international degree, higher vocational level diploma in Finland in the field of business information technology.

The qualification used for applying must have been completed by July 11 2024.

The applicant must demonstrate sufficient proficiency in the English language during the application.

In addition two (2) years of field specific work experience is required after the graduation. If applicant has completed post-secondary or higher vocational level diploma in Finland the requirement of two years work experience is counted from receiving the diploma.

The two years of work experience required for eligibility must have been acquired by the July 31 2024.

For Master of Engineering, applicants must have higher education degree from the field of engineering / technology or higher vocational level diploma in Finland from the field of engineering.

The qualification used for applying must have been completed by July 11 2024.

The applicant must demonstrate sufficient proficiency in the English language during the application.

In addition two (2) years of field specific work experience is required after the graduation. If applicant has completed post-secondary or higher vocational level diploma in Finland the requirement of two years work experience is counted from receiving the diploma.

The students are selected on the basis of the entrance examination course.

The entrance examination course is Introduction to Programming (KA00EH69) and the scope of the course is 5 ECTS. The course is organised online, registration available from January 3 2024 at 10:00 am to January 17 2024 at 11:59 pm (Finnish time). Execution of the course is January 18 – February 29 2024.

The applicant must first fill in the online application form for the spring joint application to higher education at studyinfo database during the application period. Once the online application is filled and complete, the applicant can register for the entrance examination course. The registration ends on January 17 at 11:59 pm (Finnish time). If the applicant does not register for the entrance examination course by the deadline, they cannot be accepted for the degree programme.

The entrance examination course evaluates mainly applicant’s programming skills. The course is free of charge for the applicant. The course is scored from 0 to 100 points. The minimum score for an acceptable performance is 20 points. The entrance examination course belongs to the selection of courses offered by the Open University of Applied Sciences.

Registration for the course is done through the Eduplan Ella service at https://ella.eduplan.fi/oamk and with “Information and Communication Technology” selected. The applicant can start the execution of the course typically 1–2 days after registration, but no earlier than January 18 2024 .

Instructions on participating in the entrance examination course will be sent to registered applicants by e-mail.
