The Geothermal Leap (Geoenergialoikka) (kehitysosio)
1 January 2024 - 30 June 2026
Objectives and actions
The project involves investing in and implementing a 500-600 m deep geothermal well in four different regions, and examining the characteristics of the well itself, such as energy production, flows, and changes. At the same time, information on the productivity of geothermal energy and other forms of energy is obtained.
The project also provides information on energy self-sufficiency and security of supply for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The project includes both investment and development sections.
Expected results
Instrumentation of the geothermal well and development of measurement events and methods.
Funding
The funding for this project, financed by the Fair Transition Fund 2021-2027 for Renewing and Competent Finland, has been granted by the Central Ostrobothnia Regional Council.
Collaboration
The project is implemented in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK, lead partner), the University of Oulu, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, and Centria University of Applied Sciences.
