Information and Communication Technologies

The utilization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is growing at an enormous pace. The multidisciplinary main objective of the FUAVE consortium is to establish a new research, development, and innovation partnership network or ecosystem to support the development of Finnish expertise, competence areas, and business related to future unmanned aviation and its applications. The project has ended.

Key actions

  • Networking and joint development between the stakeholders
  • Definition of operating principles for test areas in urban and rural areas
  • Demonstrations of cutting-edge technology and commercial applications
  • Raising the public awareness of new drone services
  • Championing Finnish companies to be the leaders in new drone products and services

UAV Test Areas

  • Oulu-Hailuoto (EFD682)
  • Helsinki Jätkäsaari
  • Helsinki-East Aerodrome
  • OuluZone
