Additionally, the project gathers and disseminates best practices, thus supporting the systematic development of stakeholders’ continuous learning.
The key actions
- Assessing the status of Oamk’s continuous learning services,
- Strengthening the customer-centricity and anticipatory capability of continuous learning services,
- Developing the expertise of Oamk’s staff in producing continuous learning services, and
- Enhancing Oamk’s continuous learning processes to better serve those in employment and meet the needs of the working life.
The project aims to achieve lasting operational changes to produce higher-quality continuous learning services.
Funding and Implementation of the Project
The activities of the JATKOT project are aimed at the teaching and planning staff of Oamk, the personnel of the joint training support services of Oamk and the University of Oulu, as well as Oamk’s stakeholders in the working life. The project is implemented by Oulu University of Applied Sciences. The project is co-financed by the European Union.
Information about the Project
Finnish society is facing significant challenges. Changes in population structure, regional disparities, and the rapid development of work and technology require new approaches and structures, even in higher education institutions. Continuous learning and close collaboration between work and expertise provide individuals with resilience to change and offer competitive advantages to businesses.
The aim of the JATKOT project is to develop processes for Oamk that better take into account foresight information, as well as the needs of the working life, enabling a precise response to the skill needs of the workforce. The JATKOT project supports the expertise of Oamk’s teaching staff in producing continuous learning services and work-life-oriented pedagogical solutions. Additionally, the project gathers and disseminates best practices, thereby supporting the systematic development of stakeholders’ continuous learning.
A key objective is to enhance Oamk’s service system to better serve the needs of the workforce from the perspective of continuous learning. The project focuses on developing continuous learning processes for open polytechnic education.
The project aims to achieve lasting operational changes to produce higher-quality continuous learning services. As a result, Oamk’s customer-centric continuous learning processes will become clearer. The accessibility and work-life relevance of education will improve. Through the project’s contribution, education and services for skill development are developed to meet the needs of skilled labor availability, skill requirements, and the skills gap.
The primary target groups of the project are Oamk’s teaching staff (teachers and educational planning staff), the personnel of the joint training support services of Oamk and the University of Oulu, and the stakeholders of Oulu University of Applied Sciences from the working life.
