XIII Leevi Madetoja piano competition
Prizes
Under 13 category:
Based on the evaluation committee’s decision, an incentive prize of 2,000 € will be distributed, with contributions from the City of Oulu 800 €, Oulu Conservatory 500 €, Madetoja Foundation 200 €, and Mänttä Music Festival 500 €.
The prizes for the Under 13 category will be awarded in the Tulindberg Hall on Saturday, January 25, 2025, following the conclusion of this category, which is expected to be around 4:00 PM.
13–16 category:
Based on the evaluation committee’s decision, an incentive prize of 3,000 € will be distributed, with contributions from the City of Oulu 800 €, Madetoja Foundation 600 €, Oulu Energia 600 €, Liminka Music Institute 500 €, and Oulu Opera 500 €.
The prizes for the 13–16 category will be awarded in the Poiju Hall on Thursday, January 23, 2025, following the conclusion of this category, which is expected to be around 5:30 PM.
17–30 category:
- 1st prize: 3,000 €
- 2nd prize: 2,000 €
- 3rd prize: 1,000 €
The total prize of 6,000 € has been granted by the City of Oulu 1,400 €, Madetoja Foundation 1,000 €, Oulu Energia 1,400 €, Friends of Piano Music in the Oulu Region 400 €, Pro Oulu Symphony 500 €, and the Finnish Cultural Foundation 1,300 €.
Based on their assessment, the evaluation committee may distribute the prizes differently. The prizes for the 17–30 category will be awarded on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the Madetoja Hall after the concerto final.
Special Prizes
500 € from the Finnish Composers’ Association for the best performances of new Finnish piano music in the 13–16 category and 700 € in the 17–30 category.
500 € from Musica – Oulu Music Theatre Association for the best pianist from Northern Ostrobothnia.
The competition organizer reserves the right to make changes to the prize amounts.
