Complaint about the competitive bidding for campus restaurants

A complaint has been filed with the Market Court regarding the tender for restaurant services at the Linnanmaa and Kontinkangas campuses of the University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences.

This means that the selected operators, Juvenes Oy and Sodexo Oy, will not be able to start their operations on the campuses from January 1, 2025. The existing operators will provide restaurant  services with interim agreements until the issues related to the complaint have been dealt with.

The new complaint concerned, among other things, the fact that the selection was made on the basis of price alone and that large operators would have been favoured in competitive tendering at the expense of small ones.
