Career Tracking Survey for Universities of Applied Sciences Begins – Graduates of 2019 to Receive the Survey

The national career tracking survey aims to explore the employment and career situation of graduates from universities of applied sciences and how well the skills acquired during their studies align with the demands of the working world.

The nationwide career tracking survey is conducted annually for those who graduated five years ago from universities of applied sciences. This year, 1,456 graduates from Oamk who completed their bachelor’s or master’s degree in 2019 will receive the survey.

The career tracking survey collects information on graduates’ employment, career paths, and satisfaction with their careers and degrees. The survey offers alumni a valuable opportunity to provide feedback. The results offer critical insights into changes in the job market, contributing to the development of teaching and lifelong learning services. The data gathered from the survey also benefits prospective students and current students considering their own studies and future career plans.

Some questions from the survey are used as a qualitative employment metric for universities of applied sciences. These responses determine 3%, or nearly 30 million euros, of the basic funding for universities of applied sciences. Every response is, therefore, valuable.

Oamk Graduates are Satisfied with Their Careers

Last year, the survey was conducted among those who graduated in 2018 with either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. A total of 645 Oamk alumni responded to the survey. Of them, 74.7% were in permanent full-time employment, 8.7% in temporary full-time employment, and 2.6% were self-employed.

At Oamk, close collaboration with working life during studies strongly supports learning and the employment of students, with up to 75% of graduates remaining in the region to work. Among the respondents, 87% felt at least somewhat satisfied with their degree in relation to their career, and 88% were at least somewhat satisfied with their current career.

Did You Graduate in 2019?

The career tracking survey will be conducted between October 10 and November 10. A link to the survey will be sent via email and text message. The survey is carried out by the universities of applied sciences in collaboration with CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd.

So be ready – your response is very important to us!
