DelWaWood

1 August 2024 - 31 July 2027

Engineering and Engineering Trades

DelWaWood project is about developing low carbon solutions and alternative opportunities from the construction industry and forestry recycled waste wood to achieve greater sustainable circular economic practices.

News

At present, waste wood is primarily disposed of by burning, which leads to CO2 emissions. This is known to be an unsustainable and environmentally harmful practice, creating a need to develop new operational models. Alternative, innovative, and scientifically proven methods for reusing waste wood according to the principles of the circular economy are needed. These methods must be technically viable and proven to work from the perspective of the entire material lifecycle.

The DelWaWood project tests new scientifically validated methods for wood processing, along with an assessment of innovative service value chain case studies.

In collaboration

The DelWaWood project is coordinated by Oulu University of Applied Sciences and co-implemented by Nordland Research Institute, Luleå University of Technology and Digipolis Oy. The project is funded by Interreg Aurora.
