Growth from circular economy

The Growth and Business from Circular Economy in Northern Ostrobothnia (KASVU) project supports companies in the region to develop new business solutions, products, and services based on circular economy principles. In the project, we share tested B2B practices for improving resource efficiency and minimizing waste streams. We also provide information on potential business ideas and expertise in new circular economy business models and their commercialization. We assist companies in solving typical challenges related to the circular economy, such as specialized expertise required for the productization of waste-based materials.

Reuse of waste streams and biogas

In the project, we also investigate opportunities to increase the use of biogas in Northern Ostrobothnia. The study covers the technical possibilities and economic viability of biogas in industrial energy production.

We pilot new utilization opportunities for selected waste streams and share information about them with stakeholders. We compile and disseminate information as well as practical examples of biomethane use in transportation and energy applications for industry and public organizations.

Sharing circular economy expertise and best practices

Circular economy expertise and best practices are shared through podcasts and webinars. To facilitate ongoing discussions, we create a social media channel to promote dialogue on related topics.

In podcasts, we discuss various aspects of circular economy opportunities in businesses, covering topics such as conducting material audits in companies, process improvement based on circular economy principles, material choices for products considering recyclability, and utilization of Material Exchange.
