What is fLeader?


Target group

The fLeader programme is designed for entrepreneurs or for women working in managerial and specialist roles, who wish to boost the business operations of their company, organisation or work community, and strengthen their own leadership skills.

Schedule and extent of studies

The fLeader programme starts on Thursday, September 26, 2019 and ends in May 2020. You can complete the programme alongside working. The programme contains 15 days of contact studies, i.e. two or three days per month. In November, the contact studies will be carried out as an intensive weekend in Ruka together with Spanish students. The programme also includes learning tasks that  invole your own company, organisation or work community.

During the programme, you also have the chance to participate in three sparring sessions on leadership abilities. The sparring sessions are organised in small groups and they are held by an experienced consultant.

The fLeader programme includes a study trip, which will be organised in collaboration with our Spanish partners Fundacion EOI Escuela de Organización Industrial in Madrid and Mondragon University in Bilbao. The trip will be made in the spring of 2020 to Spain. The costs are mainly paid by the participants themselves.

The extent of the studies is 20 credit units. The orientation period for the studies is September 26–27, 2019.

Training collaboration

The contents of the programme have been created in collaboration with Oulu University of Applied Sciences, University of Oulu and our international partners Fabrica 360, Fundacion EOI Escuela de Organización Industrial  and Mondragon University. The trainers of the programme are respected and experienced experts.

A completed fLeader programme can be accepted as a part of the EMBA programme of University of Oulu.


The price of the fLeader programme is 400 euros (VAT 0 euro). The travel and accommodation costs of the intensive weekend in Ruka will be paid by the participants themselves. The study trip to Spain will mainly be  paid by the participants themselves.

Applying and application period

The application period  for the programme starts in August 2019 and ends on Monday, September 9, 2019. The application form will be available in the beginning of August 2019. We will select 20 students to the programme.
