Entrepreneurship

According to our Strategy 2020 we promote entrepreneurship. We develop new business and support its renewal.

We participate in creating future for Northern Finland by developing area’s working life and business actively and based on their needs. One example of this is starting universities’ startup centre, Business Kitchen. Oamk is one of the centre’s two main executers.

Developing entrepreneurship means to us:

1. Developing entrepreneur training by organising entrepreneur studies for all our students and progressing students’ new business ideas at the Business Incubator. In 2012 our students have started 15 new companies at the Business Incubator. Tuoreempi luku
2. Developing and tightening the co-operation with working life particularly with small and medium enterprises. We offer different forms of co-operation and services (services linkki) to develop area’s business.
3. Developing and supporting innovation activities related to creating new business. By this we mean protecting the innovations and business ideas of our staff and students and promoting commercializing. We organise every year Kickstart, a business idea competition, and studies that promote innovation knowhow.
